Today I finished a new print and decided to get it and several others printed. I chose to use my local Wal-Mart. Odd decision perhaps considering the previous journal entry where I had issues with Wal-Mart. Something I didn't mention was that the offending Wal-Mart was not my local store. It was in another state.
My local store is used to seeing my artwork get printed. It had been a while (almost a year) since I have gotten anything printed and decided to go ahead with the print idea. I got there, new faces in the photo lab. Good for me? Hmm.. maybe not. They don't know me.
I submitted my images (11 8x10's, 2 11x14's and 1 16x20). I got the new image plus a lot of old favorites including Firestorm, Happy Place, Kokali, and Purple Moon. I waited for them to say anything.
All I heard was, "These are great. Come again soon."
Hmm .. so either my local Wal-Mart is staffed with people who don't have morals or they are unaware that their job description also includes being morality police for artists trying to get their own personal works printed. Either way, I am happy. I got my pictures.
My irritation currently only extends to the Wal-Mart in that other state.
